Auxiliary Corner

Fall is upon us and the trees are absolutely beautiful! What a great time of year it is.

First and foremost, I would like to thank anyone who helped at our fish fry we had on October 14th. It was very successful considering we didn’t advertise in our newspapers, etc. We are slowly getting more help and getting everyone aware of what we are all about! It’s amazing and we can’t thank you enough!

Our thirty-one fundraiser was very well. We had fun!  We even had Renell from the Northfield Post who is also an officer of state, she sure is a hoot and we are thankful she supported us. We raised $420.00 on this event and we got 3 new Auxiliary members from it. Way to go! We are doing so great.

Next up, we have Veterans Day, November 11th. Auxiliary is getting a cake donated from Giant Eagle again this year and we have a lady donating cookies as well to thank our Veterans.  Please join us for the ceremony at Broad Blvd. and Front Street at 11:00am and swing by the post afterwards and thank our Veterans.

We will have a luncheon from 12PM to 6PM on thanksgiving, our very own Dave Golic will be making the turkey this year and we are asked to help and bring some side dishes to share. There is a signup sheet for side dishes at the Post.

We are having a vendor/craft show on Friday November 25th from 5pm to 9 pm. Auxiliary will be doing a bake sale at this time so we are looking for donations. We will have a 50/50. This is our first year trying this (to my knowledge) and so far, I feel we are getting a lot of positive feedback. We will have at least 12 vendors. This is a free event. please come support us and let others know, we are grateful to have vendors willing to take time out of their day knowing it may not be successful, but I know it will be!  Please keep an eye out on fliers this week. Please reach out if you have any questions.

We are wrapping up our $2.00 and $5.00 lottery board drawings, only a few tickets left and we will take a break from that and maybe do some other drawings for the holidays.

Reminder, every other Sunday starting October 2nd through April we will be having a euchre tournament at the POST starting at 2pm.  Feel free to bring a snack to share.  The cost to play in the tournament is $5.00 per person.

Our next meeting will be held on Monday November 14th at 6:00 pm.  Please join us, we have so much to go over and I’m so excited for our Auxiliary. We have so many ideas but we need your help.  Remember to thank a Veteran today.
