FROM THE COMMANDER

I want to thank everyone who helped with our Veterans Day celebration! We had the Ceremony at the VFW because of the rain which would have damaged the city’s equipment! Please consider helping next year, many hands make light work! We had a good turnout for this year’s District 8 Military Ball, it was a great time. Auxiliary Corner

Happy Holidays!  November went by so fast and before we know it, Christmas and New
Year’s will be here before we know it!

Veterans day turned out wonderfully even with the pouring rain.  The ceremony was
moved to the Post, and we ended up having a last-minute luncheon that I feel went very
well. The food was amazing. Thanks to our very own Dave Golec, our secretary made
the most delicious brisket. It was so good he was asked by a Korean war veteran’s wife
to marry him. I want to thank everyone who was there and helped.

Speaking of Dave, he even made a turkey for the Post for thanksgiving! We are so
grateful to him and all of the others who have helped on these to give thanks to our
veterans.

The vendor show we did was a success, it went very well, and it was fun to shop.
Auxiliary had a bake sale, and we did well with that as well.  I want to thank everyone
who helped setup, cleanup, etc. It was a lot of work, but many hands helped make
it happen!

Our next meeting will be held on Monday December 12th at the Post at 6:00 PM. We
will have a little party at the meeting for Christmas. I will be bringing in Pizza and if you
can, please bring something to share.

Lastly, praying for all of us and our families for a healthy Christmas this year.

Remember to thank a veteran today.

Stephanie Gobrogge,
President.
