Newsletter September 2022

News from the Commander

Congratulations to our post for being 100%. I have really enjoyed this great weather this summer, l hope it will continue thru October. I want to thank all of the volunteers who helped with our monthly Cruise in and also our Chick’s Ride 3 car show. Every year they donate to a different charity and this year was for the Cuyahoga Falls Cancer Club. The raised over $500.00. Without our dedicated volunteers this would not have happened.

Remember as summer ends, we start our indoor league activities at the Post. We will have an internal pool league at the Post starting October 3rd. If you are interested look for the signup sheet at the Post. We will have a Women’s pool league as well. Please ask the bartender or see Sue Wilmer for details. Then we will have our traveling pool league on Thursday, if you are interested, please see the two captains, Rick James and Tom Carr. That league starts October 6th.

News from the Auxiliary President

Hello!  Hopefully soon the weather will cool down, it’s been a hot summer.

We are still taking donations for the school supply drive, items or cash can be dropped off at the post.

We are having the Monthly Cruise-In on Saturday September 3rd from 10am-2pm.  We need volunteers to help with food, and running orders. Please come and see some beautiful cars, trucks, & bikes. We could use the support.

Please join us on Saturday, Sept 24th for our Posts annual picnic. We ask everyone to please bring a covered dish.

Thursday, October 13th we are having a Thirty-One Fundraiser Party. 25% of the profit will go back to the Post, it’s a win-win situation, we get to have fun hanging out and shopping for some amazing things and we will get money for it. The party starts at exactly 6:31 PM.

Please reach out if you have any questions.

Friday October 14th we are having a fish dinner. More information to follow. We can really use volunteers when we do events. Remember many hands make light work. We need help with the events to help make them a huge success, whether you advertise for us, or come help. We will also be taking donations for baked goods.  The hours are from 5:00-7:30pm. We will be having a meeting prior for anyone who wants to help out during the dinner, more information will come next month.

The Acme cash back program has started and there is an envelope at the Post for receipts, please drop them off.

We are still looking for fundraising ideas so please feel free to reach out.  I have had a few people ask about another Paint N Sip party, so we will be bringing that up at an upcoming meeting.

I am sad to announce the passing of one of our lifelong members Harriett Lytle who had recently passed away. Many years ago, she was very active in our Auxiliary and she will be missed.

Our next meeting is Monday September 12th at 6pm. Our District 8 president will be joining us, so please come and remember to thank a Veteran today.

Thank you,

Stephanie Gobrogge
