Newsletter April 2022

News from the Commander

I would like to thank Dave Golic for providing an excellent meal on St. Patty’s Day. If you didn’t come in and try it you missed an awesome meal. He provided smoked corned beef which we made Reubens and had a meal of corned beef with cabbage and potatoes.

Our Lent Fish Fry’s are from 5:00-7:30 through April 15th. If you haven’t been out to try our Fish Fry or would like to support your Post by volunteering that would be great. I would like to thank everyone that have volunteered and supported this event. Volunteers are always welcome and it doesn’t have to be the whole time-frame, remember many hands make light work. We also have a group of High School students who are helping and they are doing a fantastic job.

I am happy to announce that now on Wednesdays during Queen of Hearts one of our members will be grilling Hamburgers and making Fresh-Cut Frys for $7.00.

Upcoming events:

  • On March 29th is Vietnam Memorial Day and I hope to see you all at the club where we will have a cake celebrating our Vietnam Veterans.

News from the Auxiliary President

We have made it to spring finally!!!  Warmer weather is among us.

The fish frys are going very well and we still have until the 15th of April. I want to thank everyone for the baked goods. We are having huge success with our Bake sale.  Please keep the goodies coming.  We also are still looking for volunteers to help out.

May 21st from 12pm -4pm the post is

Having a car show which is for a fundraiser for the POST parking lot. We need cars, bikes and your help making this a success. There will be a $10 entry fee to enter your vehicle. We will have trophy prizes, food and 50/50. Please come and enjoy.  Let another member know if you can help with it also.

On Saturday May 21st we are having a PIG ROAST HAWAIIN STYLE.  This will also be a fundraiser for the POST parking lot. We do need help with decorating and setting up and cleaning up.  This is a catered event and we will have all kinds of food.  Cocktails starting at 4pm and dinner is served at 6pm.  There will be a 50/50 drawing, music and even cornhole

tournaments. Would anyone like to be my partner?????? 😀 please reach out to any club officer, any Auxiliary members if any bartenders.   This is a prepaid event.

I’m excited that our Auxiliary is working closely with the post and we are all making things happen.  I’m so excited that we can come together and finally have fun.  We have had a hard time the last 2 years due to the pandemics.   I’m looking forward to the upcoming months.

Thanks everyone and remember to thank our Vets.
