From the Commander
First and foremost, I would like to say that this has been one crazy Summer and as it comes to an end, I expect
this Fall and Winter to be just as busy. You can tell by the upcoming events! But before we get to the events, I
would like to take the time to remind everyone that this is the 20 th anniversary of September 11 th ! Patriot Day is
a United States national observance that honors the memory of those who were killed in the September 11
attacks. It was first observed in 2002, after the proclamation by President George W. Bush.
Up Coming Events at the Post
This Saturday is our Post Cruise-In from 12:00 to 4:00pm. Our final one of the year will be October 2 nd . If you
have haven’t come out for one, I hope you can join us for a great show.
We are coming up on our Fall Season where we have almost daily events. If you are interested in doing any of
these things stop by the Post and sign up. Some of our weekly events are, Mondays we will be starting soon a
mixed pool league, there is a sign-up sheet at the post, Tuesdays are the women’s pool league, Wednesdays
are the Queen of Hearts, Thursdays are the traveling pool League, Friday’s we have a DJ and Saturday we
have Karaoke.
October 2nd from Noon to 6:00pm. The Post will be providing hot dogs and hamburgers. We will ask everyone
coming to please bring a side dish to share.
We will be hosting Stuff the Bus again this year in our parking lot on October 16th . Our slotted time should be
from Noon to 2:00pm. They will be collecting winter items for the homeless and also for Veterans in need. All
winter items are needed, socks, gloves, boots, any winter clothes that you may have. No summer items are
needed just items for winter and cash donations are also accepted.
October the 31st our post will have Truck or Treat and there will be more information on the time and what’s
going to take place later.
November the 19th our post will be having a paint and sip at 6:00 Pm. If you need any information on this, get
with any of our Auxiliary members
District 8 Up Coming Events
October 9th Fish Fry at Meander Post 9571, Ellsworth post at 5:00pm. They will offer Fish, Shrimp and Chicken
Fingers for $13.00 A flyer will be posted with more details. They are doing a Fish Fry instead of their annual
picnic.
They are going to start a bowling league in the near future instead of having just golf for a fundraiser. A flyer will
be posted with more information about this event as soon as we get it.
Community / Veteran Events
September 10th is the 8th Annual Warriors Journey Home Gala Celebration from 6:00-9:00 Pm. Tickets are
$55.00 and a table of 8 is $400.00. Guys Party Center. If you are interested, please reach out to me ASAP as
we need to get our RSVP in soon.
The Cuyahoga Falls Expo at the Natatorium will be on the 25th of this month starting at 10:00 and we could use
volunteers to help us at our booth. Even just for an hour would be appreciated. We are there to let people know
what we are all about and hopefully we will get some new members. There are many people in our community
that don’t know we exist nor what we do. This is a great event to get our name out there!
General Information
Our kitchen has a full menu again and is open from Thursday thru Saturday from 5:30-8:00. We continue to look
for a part-time cook. If you know anyone that likes to cook and would like more details have them, come in and
fill out an application or reach out to one of our Officers.
Our Canteen meetings are the 4 th Thursday of the month at 6:00pm. This meeting is open to all members of the Post. The Regular Member meetings are held the 4th Thursday of the month at 7:00pm. This meeting is open to all our Post Veterans that have a current dues card.
There is a lot happening, so I hope to see you at the post. Enjoy the rest of your summer because winter will be here before you know it.
From Your Auxiliary President
A HUGE YEEE-HAAA! to everyone who donated for this year’s school supplies. In addition, we were able to get
some supplies for GYM class, upon the school’s request. I know they appreciate everything we do for them.
On September 25th 2021 we will have a booth set up at the Cuyahoga Falls Community Expo. It will be held at
the High School parking lot. We will be there from 9am to 2pm. We are looking for volunteers to help with it
anytime during the day! Please reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to help.
We have some exciting things planned for our yearly picnic at the Post which is being held on Saturday October
2nd, 2021. Please come and join us, it will be worth it. We are looking for volunteers to help with it.
Save the date for Sunday October 31st for a “trunk or treat” at the Post. More details to follow! We really want
to get more of the community involved and get more family’s coming.
Please join us at the next Auxiliary meeting which will be held on Monday September 20th at 7pm.
