I hope everyone is enjoying the hot summer days, it’s better than the wet June we had.
I want to make known that our monthly Canteen and Post meetings are always the fourth Thursday of the month but they will be the fifth Thursday this month, August 29th. We moved the meeting so that as many of our patrons could go to the Rubber Ducks Game on the 22nd of this month. By purchasing tickets to this game from our filer a portion of your money will be coming back to the Post. You can buy the tickets from your phone by using the filer that is posted at the club or you can go on line and purchase them, all instructions are on the filer.
I want to thank everyone who came to the Kalbach Fund Raiser that bought a dinner and or purchased a basket, the Kalback family has been with our club for many years and again I thank you all.
We are not having a monthly Post Barbecue this month but we will have our next one September 14th from 4:00 to 7:00, and we will be having Barbecue chicken, corn on the cob, lobster macaroni and cheese and the proceeds will go towards our parking lot fundraiser.
Our Annual Post Picnic this year is going to be later in the year so it’s not hot, it’s going to be October the 12th from 12:00 to 6:00 and we will also be having a DJ.
We are going to start a new game called Show me the money, not sure at this time what day of the week it will be, check our post calendar for this date and we have instructions at the post for you to read to learn how to play this game.
We have new District Officers elected and their Motto for this year is: “Here To Serve”.
We are raffling one of our electronic Dart Board Machines at the post and each ticket is a $5.00 donation and the proceeds from this is also going toward our parking lot fundraiser and their we only be 200 tickets available.
At the July meeting, the Auxiliary voted in four (4) new members. We are excited to bring them in to our organization and look forward to getting to know them.
It was decided that the lottery board and trips to Kentridge for bingo will be put on hold for a month. Please check the August newsletter for more information.
The Auxiliary will be collecting school supplies for two elementary schools this year: one in the Cuyahoga Falls district and one in the Woodridge district. Please donate what you can. A box/basket will be placed in the canteen for collecting the supplies. If you prefer to donate money or a gift card, please place it in an envelope with your name (or you can be anonymous), and give it to the bartenders to place in the Auxiliary mailbox.
We will also resume collecting Acme grocery store receipts. A collection box will be placed in the Canteen in the coming weeks. If you shop at Acme, please consider donating your receipts.
Thank you to everyone who came to the spaghetti dinner held on Saturday, July 27, 2019, to support Auxiliary member, Kristen Kalbach. It was great to see so much support for Kristen, who is battling leukemia. We really are in a wonderful community.
As always, we encourage all members to attend our monthly meeting. Our next meeting is Monday, August 19, 2019, at 7:00pm in the Post Hall.
